My Ministry Coordinate All Matters On Economy, Development – Bauchi Commissioner

The Ministry of Budget, Economic Planning & Multilateral Coordination in Bauchi is saddled with the responsibility of the coordination of all matters, activities and issues that concern economic planning and development of the state.

According to its commissioner, Aminu Hammayo, the ministry also offers professional advice on matters relating to management of the economy and the overall socio-economic development of the State.

The commissioner gave the core functions of the Ministry to include advising the government on policies that will best promote the overall development of the state in line with the state policy objectives.

Speaking during the ongoing state ministerial briefing yesterday said that, “To draw up, from time to time, the State priorities and programmes, and map-out all necessary implementation strategies, and coordinate the formulation and implementation of Government Programmes as contained in short, medium and prospective plans of the state”.

Hon. Aminu Hammayo said that his ministry similarly coordinated Technical Assistance through Multilateral and Bi-lateral Cooperation /Agreements, including Development Aids and Grants.

“Coordinate the activities of Development Partners working in the State including, the United Nations Systems (WHO, UNICEF, UNDP, etc), the World Bank and Local and International NGOs on matters/ issues relating to the overall development of the State”.

“Prepare Annual Capital and Recurrent Budget, and ensure strict compliance in the implementation of the Budget, and serve as the Data-bank of the State in collection, collation, analysis/interpretation and dissemination of the service statistics”

“Conduct and coordinate research in socio-economic areas and programmes/projects that affects the state and serve as a benchmark to monitor and evaluate and thus, assess the impact of policies/programmes on the quality of life of the local populace.

“Conduct state-wide monitoring and evaluation of projects and programmes in the state, as well as ensure institutionalization of monitoring and evaluation in all MDAS and LGAS”.
