Ahead of the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential primary election, thousands of youths from Yobe North Senatorial District, Yobe state have staged a street march in support of the presidential bid of Senate President, Ahmad Lawan on Wednesday.
The street march in support of the presidential ambition of the Senate President our Corresspondent gathered, was led by the MD/CEO, DD concept Gashu’a, Alhaji Ibrahim A. Gajere on the streets of Gashu’a, Bade Local government area of Yobe state.
The mammoth crowd in the Gashu’a street march attracted youths from across the senatorial district was to show solidarity to his presidential ambition, who they believe has all it takes to be President of Nigeria after President Muhammadu Buhari.
Responding, the Senate President said he has listened to various calls countrywide asking him to contest the office of the president and that he was ready to commit himself to the calls.
“I want to commit myself to this call from all walks of life. This is not my journey. This is our journey because every hand must be on deck to take the country to the next level,” he said.
Lawan said, though he was joining the race very late because the field is saturated with aspirants, assured Nigerians that he would play the game by the rules.
“I will play the game by the rule. I will not circumvent any rule. I will not go against our party rules”, the Senate president assured.
“I place my trust fully in the Almighty God on this journey,” he said.
