By Saleh Babagana, Yola.

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, (APC) in Adamawa State, Barrister Yakubu Bello Bashir has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for taking bold steps toward addressing the nation’s wage policy need.

He said the step so far, taken by the president is geared towards downscaling the hardship faced by workers in particular, and Nigerians as a whole.

Bello added that Tinubu’s administration is working tirelessly to develop the nation’s economy and ensure Nigerians were safe to carry out their legitimate businesses without fear.

He spoke on Thursday in Yola during the North-East zonal public hearing of the Tripatite Community on National Minimum Wage.

The zonal meeting was chaired by Comrade Joe Ajaoro, the president of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and attended by delegates from the six states of the north-east.

Recall that in January this year, the federal government inaugurated a 37 – member tripatite committee on national minimum wage, and tasked the committee with the responsibility of recommending a new national minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
