PDP LEGAL AIDE CLEAR THE AIR ON GIN’s ARREST
A member of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in yhe State Barrister Mukhtar Abubakar said Mister Abdon Dalla Gin was not arrested for vote buying as misquoted by some political miscreants.
This follows the news going round that a former head of service who double as Special Adviser on Civil service and Labour matters to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State.
Barrister Mukhtar who spoke to men of the press shortly after the release of mister Gin said Mr. Gin was arrested for having money in his car on election day.
” I am here to render services to Mr Abdon Gin who was just arrested by DSS and EFCC on a suspicion that he was having money in his car on election day but there was no evidence of giving Kobo to anyone”
“Let me tell that vote buying is a situation that somebody gives money to another to induce that voter. You journalist were there, you people saw what happened and even if this matter goes to court, you can stand in as witnesses” he added
The former head of service was apprehended and held for hours at the Dass divisional police office during the Saturday bye election into the state house of assembly position for Dass local government area before he was released on bail.
Speaking to journalists, the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi state command, Lawal Tanko Jimeta said he has received a report that someone was apprehended by the EFCC.
The CP who said he was yet to get details of the incident noted that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure a hitch free bye election in Dass local government.

The police commissioner however, said that on their part, the police has not yet arrested anybody.
He added that the command has deployed over 600 police men to Dass local government to ensure that law and order is maintained through out the election.
