Police launches man-hunt for hoodlums who attempts snatching SON’s vehicle in Bauchi

The Bauchi state police command has launched a man-hunt for three suspects over alleged attack on the driver of Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON).
Commissioner of Police police in the state, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad stated this in a crime bulletin made available to newsmen by the police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ahmed Mohammed Wakil yesterday.
According to the CP, some hoodlums, three in number, attacked a driver attached to Standard Organization of Nigeria, (SON) around New GRA Bauchi and ran away with a white Toyota Hix Bus.
The CP who said that the police got the information on 30/10/2023 at about 2100hrs, explained that a team of detectives led by CSP Makama Magaji, Officer in charge of the Anti Kidnapping Unit (AKU) swing into action and intercepted the Toyota Bus around the Maiduguri bypass.
He said that the suspects were moving the vehicle to an unknown destination but on sighting the Police, the hoodlums took to their heels.
The CP said that the driver, Sani Ahmed while being interviewed said on the same date at about 2033hrs after coming back from official duty in Azare, Katagum LGA, Bauchi to Bauchi town, he went to drop one of his co-workers, Mohammed Mohammed at his residence situated at new GRA, Bauchi metropolis and was trying to buy akara (Kosai in Hausa) when some unknown gunmen armed with pistols swooped on him.
“While on his way back, the driver stopped to buy Akara (Kosai) along the GRA road, some unknown gunmen armed with pistols entered the bus and asked him to drive the bus but he refused, therefore, they threatened him with a pistol. Terrified, he drove the car to the bypass road and he was rescued by the Police”, the crime bulletin said.
The CP said that the police has launched a man-hunt to trace and arrest the fleeing culprits.
