Ramadan: Former APC candidate distributes foodstuffs to constituents – Adamu Muhammad Sani
A former state House of Assembly candidate for Chiroma constituency, Architect Sadiq Ahmad Iliyasu has yesterday distributed foodstuffs worth millions of Naira to the people of his constituency.
Speaking shortly after the distribution exercise, the Misau local government Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Misau said that the gesture was meant to enable the beneficiaries participate in the ongoing Ramadan fasting with ease.
He said that the house of Assembly candidate, Arch. Sadiq who contested under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but loss has really demonstrated love for the party and the entire people of Misau.
“The foodstuffs we have distributed is from one of our party members who contested in the past but couldn’t win because God did not give him the opportunity”, the LG APC chairman said.
Adding that: “He was not disturbed by inability to win the election and has continued to serve our party, the APC whole heartedly, he has been helping party members in Misau local government and other places”.
“Yesterday, he sent in these foodstuffs through my office for onward distribution to APC members from ward to Local Government levels. There are also categories of people in the party who benefitted from the gesture”, he further explained.
According to him, the beneficiaries include councillorship candidates who participated in the recent local government election in the state and those that were councillors during M.A Abubakar, as well as party leaders.
“This goes to show that APC is a formidable party with members who has the interest of the party and the people at heart”, Alhaji Aliyu said.
He said APC despite been the opposition in the state, its members are up and doing in terms of helping the masses.
“In Bauchi, we are in the opposition, like in Misau we don’t even have house of assembly seat but I can boast that there is no one holding political position from Misau under PDP administration that has done what this man is doing to his people in Misau”, he maintained.
While praying Allah to bless the former state House of Assembly candidate abundantly, the APC Chairman thanked him immensely for the gesture.
He assured that other officials of the APC and stakeholders are ever ready to do same for the people and the party.
He called on the people of the area to compare and contrast, the kind of people that are in the APC and those in the PDP and decide for themselves who to trust.
He called on the APC members occupying government positions to emulate the good that is been done by others with a view to assisting the people, particularly the less privileged in the society.
