Reps member for Shira/Giade flags-off palliative distribution

A member representing Shira/Giade federal constituency in the Nigerian House of representatives, Alhaji Sani Ibrahim Tanko has handed over palliative items allocated to him by the North East development commission (NEDC) to a Committee for onward distribution to his constituents.
The palliative packages which includes rice, vegetable oil and other non food items were handed over to the distribution Committee by Sarkin Arewan Katagum, Alhaji Yayanuwa Zainabari and the Caretaker Committee chairman of Shira, Hon. Babangida Maliya at a ceremony in Shira local government area of Bauchi state on Tuesday.
The items handed over to the Distribution committee were, bags of 25kg rice, vegetable oil, Blankets, Spaghetti and mats.
Zainabari while delivering vote of thanks, commended the federal Lawmaker for the timely distribution of the palliatives as allocated to him by the NEDC.
According to him, the gesture will help greatly in ameliorating the hardship been faced by the beneficiaries.
Also speaking, the traditional title holder of Ajiyan Shira gave details of how the palliative packages would be shared, such that it will reach the targeted masses.
According to him, the items were meant to be shared to the people of the areas irrespective of party differences.
He further explained that associations such as the NURTW, Achaba, Hunter’s, ward heads, religious leaders, security agencies, among others are also to benefit from the gesture.
He said that the distribution Committee comprises of former Councillor, ward chairman, women leader, Youth Leader, Barade Foundation, Coordinators, Gwamna, House of reps member and House of assembly Disina, Shira district.
On his part, the caretaker Committee Chairman of Shira Hon. Babangida Maliya enjoined the beneficiaries to use the items judiciously.
Hon. Babangida Maliya urged the Committee to ensure that the palliatives reached the targeted beneficiaries.
He urged the distribution Committee members to wait for their turn, adding that provision has been made for them to benefit from the gesture separately.
The caretaker Committee Chairman while thanking the NEDC for allocating the items to the Lawmaker, also expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state for providing the needed dividends of democracy to the people of Bauchi state.
