Reps member, Gwalabe receives Doctorate Degree award from Cotonou, tasks ASUU on strike-free resolution of labour disputes

A member representing Katagum local government area of Bauchi state in the Nigerian House of Representatives, Hon Auwalu Audu Gwalabe has been conferred with Honorary Doctorate Degree by a university in Benin Republic Cotonou.
The Lawmaker while delivering his acceptance speech, commended the university for finding him worthy of the award.
Hon Gwalabe who pointed out that education is the bedrock of every societal development, appealed to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to always consider the plights of younger generation while pushing for their demands.
He said that there was the need for the ASUU to emulate their colleagues in Benin Republic by ensuring that labour disputes are settled on the table without necessarily embarking on strike.
The Lawmaker who described Nigerian university staff as hardworking as their Benin counterpart, dedicated the award he received to his Katagum federal constituency, Bauchi state and Nigeria as a whole.
