Rumors of presence of people with spiritual powers fictitious – Bauchi CP

Bauchi state police command has falsified rumors making round of the presence of some people who possessed spiritual powers within Bauchi metropolis and beyond.
The Command’s Commissioner, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad, who stated this in a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Superintendent of Police (SP) Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, described the rumors as a fabricated news.
“The Bauchi State Police Command wishes to unequivocally demystify fabricated news going around purporting the presence and activities of the people with spiritual powers in the Bauchi metropolitan and beyond”, the CP said.
According to him, the bruit alleged the existence of the People with paranormal abilities in the Bauchi metropolis, the activities that tends cause panic and threaten the security and safety of the good people of the State.
“Consequently, the intelligence machinery have relentlessly unravelled and has it that the story in circulation which induces extensive anxiety and panic to the law-abiding citizen of the State is fictitious and baseless”, the press release disclosed.
The police commissioner further said, “the Command hereby categorically assures that the story is baseless and no incident of such has been tracked down”.
CP Muhammad while describing the alleged story as bogus, called on the law-abiding and noble citizens of the State to disregard what he said is a bruit.
He further admonished members of the public to desist from such acts as well as taking laws into their hands instead of reporting to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.
The press release therefore, enjoined members of the public to go about their lawful businesses without fear of intimidation by such purported rumours.
The CP directed all Area Commanders/Tactical Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) to continuously embark on visibility policing patrol 24/7 round the clock within the area of responsibility and arrest any suspected person(s) or group(s), found wanting in connection with such act.
