By Silas Shentukwak

The Executive Chairman of Bogoro Local Government Area in Bauchi State, Surveyor Lawi Yakubu Sumi, has called on the Zaar people to embrace unity and dialogue to ensure the actualization of the long anticipated Sayawa Chiefdom.

Speaking in an New Year interview with Albarka Radio, Surveyor Sumi emphasized the need for all peace-loving Zaar people to support Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, in his efforts to bring the Sayawa Chiefdom to fruition after decades of struggle.

The chairman appealed for an end to blame games, hearsay, and backbiting among the Zaar community, urging them to work collectively toward their common goal.

He stressed that the creation of the chiefdom should take precedence over any disagreements about who becomes the Gung Zaar (the traditional leader of the chiefdom).

“The most important thing is to have the chiefdom, irrespective of who emerges as the Gung Zaar,” Sumi stated.

Surveyor Lawi Yakubu expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for taking bold steps to address this longstanding demand of the Zaar people, something previous administrations had failed to achieve.

He also urged the Zaar community to set aside factions and differences, pledging full support for the government’s efforts in making the chiefdom a reality.

Surveyor Sumi concluded by calling for a renewed commitment to peace and dialogue, emphasizing that only through unity and collaboration can the aspirations of the Zaar people be realized.
