The Bauchi state Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam has disclosed that some of the allegations raised by the Bauchi APC Guber candidate, Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar on social media were malicious and unfounded.
Alhaji Akuyam who stated this while addressing a press conference Sunday night, said the assertions by the APC candidate that the two places he was attacked that resulted to the death of one person in Duguri, the hometown of Governor Bala and Akuya in Misau were the PDP Chairman’s place.
“I found these allegations as very malicious and unfounded. Yes, there was shooting in Akuyam, yes, one person was killed the day he went there. Yes, there was shooting in Duguri, one person was killed the day he went there”, he said.
According to Alhaji Koshe Akuyam, the APC Governorship candidate forgot to tell the world that there was shooting in Toro, Warji, Darazo and even Alkaleri local government areas of the state.
“He said that he was elsewhere and there was no shooting, when he decided not to shoot, who will shoot, he was the person that was shooting and killing people, that is what we don’t want in Bauchi state”, the PDP Chairman said.
Alhaji Koshe who regretted the killings, pointed out that such act is strange in the politics of Bauchi state which the APC candidate is bringing.
“But I am not surprised, considering his background, he is not a politician, all his life what he knew how to do is kill and kill which he has started here in Bauchi State”, he said.
Alhaji Koshe said, “when they shot and killed somebody in Akuyam, they stayed in Akuyam, when he said that we were attacking him, that is my village, he went to the Village Head, greeted him, and it was on his way back to the District Head that the incident happened”.
The PDP Chairman while stating that the APC Governorship candidate even stayed at the Palace of the District Head for hours, said if Akuyam people were confrontational, they couldn’t have allowed him to stay there for an hour.
The PDP chairman who explained that the they have reported the matter to the police, said that the police took side and nothing was done.
“The Police took sentiments, nothing was done and that was what encouraged him to go and do it again. When he went to Duguri, he came and displayed two dane guns which he claimed they were able to recover from the people of Duguri”, Alhaji Koshe said.
He faulted the APC Chairman for not handing over the guns he said were recovered to the police for proper investigations, but chose to bring them out two days after the incident, claiming that the guns were used to attack him.
