The FUHSA Chancellor Pledges Dedication to the Up-liftment of Education.

The Pioneer Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences Azare (FUHSA), Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera CON, has expressed his readiness to contribute positively towards the upliftment of quality education in the country.

The Emir, who made the pledge during his investiture at the university premises in Azare, Katagum local government area of Bauchi State, on Saturday, 27 January, 2024. expressed gratitude to the federal government for appointing him as the Chancellor of the university.

“I am really appreciative for the privilege of being singularly identified among many that could be entrusted with the status of the pioneer chancellor of the Federal University of Medical Sciences located here in the historic town of Azare, Bauchi State,” he said.

“I feel highly delighted and honoured by Mr. President for finding me worthy of this appointment and would remain indebted to serving and promoting the activities of teaching, learning, and research in this newly established medical institution for the benefit of all Nigerians and humanity at arge,”  the Chancellor pledged.

He expressed thanks to the former minister of education, Malam Adamu Adamu, who, he said, broke the news of his nomination through a phone call before he was subsequently appointed by the president without soliciting for it.

“Therefore, I sincerely thank the Hon. Minister for this recognition and confidence in my ability,” he said.

The Emir also assured the present Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, and the minister of state for education, Hon. Yusuf Tanko Sununu, that he has accepted the appointment as Chancellor of the Federal University of Health Sciences Azare as a challenge.

He assured that he would work with all the necessary commitment and sincerity of purpose to provide the university with the much-needed wisdom of a father by contributing to the peace, tranquilly, and rapid development of the university.

The Emir thanked the Vice-Chancellor and his management team for the prompt visit to his palace immediately after his appointment was announced.

“This shows their high level of enthusiasm and love to work together for the progress and development of this great institution,” he said. Among those who witnessed the occasion are HRH (Dr.) Umar Faruq 11 Emir of Katagum, Emir of Dutse, Misau, Dass, Kanam, and Member representing Katagum federal constituency Hon. (Dr.) Auwalu Audu Gwalabe, MD FMC Azare, among others.
