Tiamin rice mill to produce 600 metric tones daily in Bauchi

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tiamin rice milling company, Alhaji Aminu Ahmed has disclosed that the company when commissioned in two months time, will produce 600 metric tones of rice per day.

Alhaji Aminu Ahmed made this known on Friday while conducting the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria round the company’s factory situated outside the state capital, which he said most of the machines were purchased from China.

The CEO who said the company is into mechanize farming, pointed out that when production fully takes off, no fewer than 800 direct staff would be employed in addition to 2000 others on casual bases.

According to him, the Tiamin rice factory is built on an 11 hectres of land, adding that the company has traded to the tune of 15 million dollars with China in three years.

He said that the rice milling company which has 50 tones capacity dryer was assembled by engineers 6 years ago, adding that, it is first of its kind in Nigeria.

While expressing hope that the Chinese Ambassador would be present when the company is going to be commissioned in two months time, the CEO said all the equipments are brought in from China except the perboiling machines which were acquired from India.

The CEO expressed appreciation to the governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Mohammed for allocating enough land for the company to operate successfully in the state.

While responding, the Chinese Ambassador, Cui Jianchun assured the willingness of his country to invest in many sectors of the economy in Bauchi state.
