UMTH Medical Director visits Gov Zulum, as Shehu of Borno tours the hospital

The Chief Medical Director (CMD), University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), Borno state, Professor Ahmed Ahidjo has paid a Congratulatory visit to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum on his re-election victory.
Professor Ahmed Ahidjo who was accompanied by top management of the hospital on Wednesday, expressed delight over the performance of the Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum during his first tenure in office.
Professor Ahidjo who commended the Governor for prioritizing the health sector, recounted how the state government under Zulum has supported the hospital in so many ways.
He pointed out that the Governor has helped the hospital through execution of projects such as the Doctors quarters, one thousand auditorium hall, among others.
According to the CMD, the hospital is also reciprocating the Governor’s gesture by meeting the health needs of the people of Borno state and even beyond.
While responding, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, thanked the CMD and his entourage for the visit.
He acknowledged that the hospital has played an important role in his re-election as Governor of Borno state.
He assured the determination of his administration to continue to partner with the hospital to ensure quality and affordable healthcare service delivery to the people of the state.
Governor Zulum further promised that, Borno state under his regime will also provide basic amenities to the hospital, including the retraining of the staff to enhance their performance.
Similarly, the Shehu of Borno, Shehu Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-amin Alkanemi has visited the hospital since its establishment.
Our Corresspondent gathered Shehu Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-amin Alkanemi is the first Shehu of Borno to have visited the hospital since its establishment in 1983.
Receiving the Monarch at the hospital, the CMD expressed delight over the visit, assuring that the hospital will continue to provide effective and efficient health care services to the people.
“We want to appreciate you for all the support you have been giving to this hospital and in particular, during my own time as the CMD of this hospital”, Prof. Ahidjo said.
The Chief Medical Director while commending the Shehu of Borno for his fatherly advices, pointed out that it has helped the hospital to wax stronger.
While been conducted round some facilities in the hospital by the CMD, applauded the management of the hospital for attaining numerous developmental milestones in the hospital.
According to him, the facilities in the hospital can also be compete with others outside Nigeria.
The Royal father thanked Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for his support to the hospital and other hospitals across the state.
