Prof. Pate’s free medical outreach team targets 10,000 patients, seeks more support

The Prof. Pate Free Medical Outreach Team has commenced free medical outreach in Bauchi state, targeting about 10,000 people seeking medical attention.

Interacting with reporters over the weekend, the team, led by Comr. Yusuf Aliyu Fada, said they have so far, reached out to over 5,000 people with the free medical services, including Hepatitis B screening, breast and cervical cancer sensitization, and HPV vaccination.

According to Fada, the initial plan is to reach 10,000 people across 20 LGAs in Bauchi State in 2026.

The team leader solicited for financial support from the coordinating minister of health and social welfare, Prof. Mohammed Ali Pate to enable them reached the target.

He commended the minister for his remarkable achievements, including revitalizing PHCs, reducing maternal and neonatal mortality, and subsidizing kidney dialysis.

The team presented an Award of Excellence to Prof. Pate and urged President Tinubu to continue supporting him.

They also commended Bauchi State Governor Sen. Bala Muhammad for employing 10,000 youth and hoped their members would be considered.

The team thanked Prof. Jibrin Yusuf Bara, CMD ATBU Teaching Hospital, for his support and noted the hospital’s achievement as best DHIS2 utilization hospital in Nigeria.
