Tuggar Foundation distributes food items to Bauchi residents

As part of effort to give succour to citizens of Bauchi state during the Ramadan period, the Yusuf Maitama Tuggar Foundation has distributed food items worth million of naira.
Speaking to newsmen over the gesture in Bauchi, the Director General of the Yusuf Tuggar Foundation, Muhammadu Bello Tukura explained that the gesture was aimed at alleviating the plights of residents of the state as a result of the economic hardship experienced by Nigerians, pointing out that one of the basic necessity of man was food.
He stated that the items were donated by friends and associates of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, adding that businessmen and marketers in Bauchi state were the ones who procured and supplied the items in an efforts to boost their outlets and promote local business development.
He said that Yusuf Maitama Tuggar foundation has been mindful of the plights of people of the state since it’s establishment, hence it always seizes opportunities such as the Ramadan and other festive periods to show kindness to citizens of the state irrespective of political affiliation, religion and tribe.
“These items are for Muslims because this is Ramadan month of Muslim fasting, the items are meant to enable them have means of breaking their fasting for the period.”
“During the last Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Foundation extended similar gesture to Christians across the state in the spirit of the Season. The Foundation also considered the traditional institution as maker key players in the peaceful coexistence of the people of the state so they have been included in the distribution”he said
The Director General said that the exercise has no political undertone as it is purely service to humanity as a means of support to the less privileged members of the public.
In his brief remarks, Personal Assistant to the Minister, Mohammed Tilde commended the DG of Tuggar Foundation, Bello Tukura for being a dependable ally to Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar saying such people are very rare to find.
According to him the exercise does not have any political inclination but rather, an avenue to support citizens to live a better life in the midst of the economic recession in the country.
He assured that the Foundation will continue to be supportive of the Minister in seeing that people were empowered to have a source of livelihood.
Some of the LGA Coordinators of the Tuggar Foundation who spoke to Journalists expressed happiness that they can confidently go back to their respective areas to meet the people of deliver the items.
They assured that the targeted people will be reached and given the items as directed stressing that the distribution will be free and fair devoid of any political attachment.
The items distributed included bags of rice and sugar as well as Cartons of spaghetti, maccaroni and talia and groundnut oil for all the 20 LGAs of the state irrespective of political party affiliation in the spirit of the ongoing Ramadan fasting by Muslims.
