Former CBN Director Medical Services appointed Dan-Amanan Bauchi

The Emir of Bauchi, His Royal Highness Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu has appointed a former Director Medical Services of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Dr. Ahmed Shehu as Dan-Amanan Bauchi the 1st.

The Emir who received the family of Malam Adama on a thank you visit in his palace for appointing their Son as Dan-Amanan Bauchi yesterday, pointed out that Dr. Ahmed Shehu was appointed based on his track record of prudence, years of community service and philanthropy as well as proven integrity.

The Emir while congratulating the new Dan-Amanan Bauchi, urged him to reciprocate the royal honour by upholding his known qualitative character and selfless contribution towards the development of the Emirate and the State in General.

He said that before conferring the traditional title of Dan-Amanan Bauchi on Dr. Shehu, many interested persons have lobbied for the position but only him was found worthy of the title considering his trustworthiness.

Dr. Shehu was until his appointment, the Special Adviser to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Medical and Health System Intervention.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen at his resident, Dr. Shehu expressed gratitude to the Emir for finding him worthy for the coveted traditional title, pledging to work towards the progress of Bauchi Emirate council.

“I feel highly elated and humbled by this appointment. This is a responsibility that is expected of me not only on the emirate like the Emir have said, it is a responsibility on humans”, he said.

Dr. Shehu pledged to use the experience he has acquired over the years as a medical practitioner who sworn to hold responsibility and trust of his patients to bear in his new area of assignment as the Dan-Amanan Bauchi.

“This trust has also increased from that of my profession to that of humanity. So, this is something that is a big responsibility and I wish and hope that with the cooperation of all, with all stakeholders around, this is something that I will have to also sit, look indept to see that I carry out this responsibility to the best of my ability”, Dr. Shehu said.

“I can tell you from my own heart that I am ready to sacrifice, like I said, I consecrate my life to the service of humanity, I also consecrate my life to the service of the emirate and the Emir in particular. I am going to support him hundred percent and we are not going to allow anybody to look down at our Emir because this is our tradition”, Dr. Shehu assured.

Dr. Ahmed Shehu also pledged his unalloyed loyalty, continued support and contributions towards the wellbeing of the people and the development of the Emirate and Bauchi state in general.
