Bauchi 2023: PDP loses over 400 members to APC in Itas-Gadau LG

Barely weeks to the March Governorship and state assembly elections in Nigeria, over 400 members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have on Thursday denounced their membership by embracing the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in Itas-Gadau local government area of Bauchi state.

The PDP Ward Chairman of Itas-Gadau, Dasoso Gadau who led other decampees to the APC during the Governorship campaign rally of the party in the LG, explained that the feat was aimed at repositioning and strategizing all the candidates seeking for various political offices under the party from Itas Gadau and Jama’are constituencies.

Addressing supporters, the APC Governorship candidate, Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar pledged to if given the mandate, returned the only boarding secondary school in the area that was converted to a day school back to its former status, including the provision of adequate accommodation and feeding.

He also promised to engaged youth and women into useful ventures in order to empower them to become self reliant as well as employers of labour to boost small and medium enterprises in the council.

According to Sadique, if voted as Governor of Bauchi state, he will create a platform for medical outreach to all the nooks and crannies of the state with a view to addressing medical needs of the citizens.

Sadique appealed to the voters to come out enmass and vote for the APC during the forth coming elections for good governance, fairness and justice.

Our Corresspondent reports that before going to the venue of the rally, Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar took time to visit the District Heads of Gadau, Atafowa as well as Itas to seek their royal support and blessings.

While at the District Head of Itas, the APC Governorship Candidate informed the District Head, Alhaji Sagir Abdullahi that the APC is not into a do or die electioneering campaign, appealing to his supporters to conduct themselves peacefully.

On his part, the District head of Itas while thanking the APC Campaign train for the visit, prayed for a peaceful conduct of the 2023 elections.
