APC Commiserates With Victims of Flood Disaster In Bauchi

All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi has described as not only pathetic, but human to commiserate with people in flood ravaged Local Government Areas of the state, particularly Zaki, Gamawa and Jama’are Areas who endures monumental loss in the disaster in terms of lives and properties to join families of the affected in prayers for God to come to their aid.
The Party also commended the President Muhammadu Buhari for the FEC approval last month of the reconstruction of Kirfi – Gombe Abba – Dukku federal road which is expected to gulf about N11.6 billion, saying the President dearly loves Bauchi state, and always listens to any programme intended to improve the well-being of Bauchi people.
APC said the Kirfi-Gombe-Abba road remains a night for putting the lives of business travelers within the two states at risk. He added that past administrations promise to fail at all times and is the road that links Bauchi, Gombe and Yobe States.
The state party’s media and publicity chairman, Comrade Sabo Mohammed told the press in Bauchi yesterday that based on the information available from the state government, about sixteen Local Government Areas of the state were ravaged by this year’s flood, lamenting however that the warning signal earlier conveyed to the state government by relevant agencies was not timely informed the people which worsened the citizens.
“It is not only pathetic, but it is human nature that we join the families of those that lose their lives, lose their properties worth millions of naira, as well as countless number of people whose farmlands were washed away by the flood. And we as a party are praying to Allah to come to the aid of the affected communities”, the party said.
He noted with concern that, “We are very optimistic and confident the relevant informant agencies have long before this time communicated to the Bauchi state government as well as other states that could be affected by the impending flood.”
“But unfortunately, because the government of Bauchi state is that kind of government that doesn’t care about the plight of its citizens. That is why we are calling on well-meaning indigenes of the state in their respective positions of responsibilities to come to the aid of the affected areas in our state.
Mohammed also appreciated Sadiya Umar Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development for the numerous support and intervention brought to the state.
“Particularly we are encouraging the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs not to relent in her efforts to give succor to the teeming populace of Bauchi state irrespective of party affiliations”.
Comrade Sabo said, “So on behalf of the APC family in Bauchi state we are calling on the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk, as well as relevant MDAs to come to the rescue of our citizens who are in dire needs of assistance so as to be able to overcome their plight”.
The Party also lauded the President and his Minister of Education for establishment of different Tertiary institutions in the state.
“Which include, Federal University of Science and Nutrition Azare, Federal School Nursing and Midwifery Azare, Federal College of Education Jammare, Federal Government college Misau, Zonal Model School domicile in Bauchi,” the Chairman said.
