By Mohammed Kaka Misau

The Bauchi state Chapter chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Babayo Aliyu Misau has called on members of the party to unite with a view winning the 2023 general elections in the state.

Alhaji Aliyu who was speaking during a stakeholders meeting in his hometown Misau local government area of the state on Saturday, expressed confidence that the party will continue to wax stronger not only in Bauchi state alone, but the country as a whole.

He said, going by the successes recorded across APC led states and the federal government, there is no doubt that Nigerians will vote for the party to continue delivering the much needed dividends of democracy.

“I feel I should start this stake-holding in my hometown because politics is all about grass-rooting, one has to start from home and thereafter, extend to other areas, and I am excited because the stakeholders responded positively to the call for the meeting”, he said.

According to Alhaji Babayo Aliyu, the meeting created an avenue for all the stakeholders in Misau to air their views and what is in their minds.

“We were able to identify ourselves and we pledged to move together so that we can emerge victorious in 2023 and even beyond”, the state party chairman said.

“I came purposely to meet with stakeholders, they came and we were able to discuss a wide range of issues that are going to be instrumental to our victory, and I am happy that the meeting recorded tremendous successes”, Alhaji Babayo Aliyu explained.

Speaking on the recent party primaries, the party chairman said that the process was conducted transparently and peaceful.

“We all know that if ten people or more are contesting for a particular position, only one person is expected to win. We thank God that the few party members who have moved to other parties never complained of being rigged out in the primary elections, they knew that the election processes were done transparently”, he noted.

The Misau Local Government APC Chairman however, pleaded with those that bolted out of the party to come back in order to collectively succeed.

“They have less reason to give for their exit from the party since everything was done credibly, free and fair”, he pointed out.

The party chairman appealed to all the APC faithfuls to ensure that they make use of the extension of period by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for registration to obtain their permanent voters card (PVCs).

“People should know that, no matter how you want someone to occupy a particular position if you don’t have voters card, it amounts to nothing because you don’t have the power to vote him in, because you can’t vote when you don’t have voters card”, he said.

Alhaji Babayo Aliyu added, “So I am advising the people to go and register for their PVCs and to make sure that they vote for the APC because it is the only political party that will lead them to the promise land”.

The party chairman said that APC has the intention of organizing similar stakeholders meeting across 20 local government areas of the state, such that every party chairman at the local government level will sit down with stakeholders and discuss issues that will unite the party to success in 2023.

“I believe each local government will record the kind of successful meeting we had in Misau today”, Alhaji Babayo said.

Also speaking, the Misau local government APC chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Maigari said that the aim of the stakeholders meeting was to create unity among the party members in the local government.

“The meeting was basically meant to discuss issues and see how we can unite, promote understanding among ourselves, draw the attention of the masses on the need for them to support our party, the party for the masses, the party that with focus and vision and to move together towards the 2023 general elections”, he said.

“We called stakeholders to this meeting and everybody made suggestions, offered contribution and advises on how the party will succeed”, the LG party Chairman said.

On the exit of some party members from the party, the LG party Chairman said, anyone who has the interest of the party and the people of Bauchi state at heart will not move out of the party.

He said that the PDP led administration in Bauchi has not done anything worthy of attracting someone to dump the APC.

According to him, one of the party members who pretended to have dumped the APC has by the grace of Allah made a U-turn and has been received wholeheartedly.

“I am sure that no bonafide Member of the APC will quit just like that, because there is no better party for him to join than the APC”, the LG party Chairman said.

The chairman who described the APC in the state as one and united family, appealed to the electorates to continue to support the party in order to win from the presidency down to state assembly levels in 2023.

While stating that Nigerians are happy with the APC because of the successes it has recorded.

The LG party Chairman noted: “human beings are bound to make mistakes, but every Nigerian is aware of the school feeding Programme, the soft loans been given to the citizens. So we are calling on the people to vote for us, most especially our governorship candidate, Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar for them to witness dividends of democracy”.

He said that the APC has formed various committees that are going round to mobilize and encourage people to register for the voters card which will enable them to vote for the candidate of their own choice.

He commended the state chairman of the party for working round the clock to ensure that the party remained indivisible entity in Bauchi.

On his part, the APC house of representatives candidate for Misau/Dambam federal constituency, Alhaji Sabo Bappayo Ahmed expressed gratitude to the state party chairman for initiating the meeting.

“I was invited to the meeting in my capacity as the party candidate for Misau/Dambam house of representatives and I observed with keen interest that the meeting focused on how our party will make progress and succeed in all the elective offices come 2023”, he said.

“The stakeholders meeting was able to realize that one of the strategies to use is to reconcile members, those that felt aggrieved, most especially, those who aspired for one position or the other, the meeting called on such members to exercise patience and support the party to succeed. The meeting emphasizes on the need to unite in order to succeed”, Hon Bappayo said.

The house of representatives candidate called on the people, particularly Misau and Dambam local government areas to ensure that they obtain their permanent voters card that will enable them vote for the All Progressive Congress APC candidates in 2023.
