NA 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi wins 2022, 3 Division corporals, below Competition

The Nigerian Army, 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, has emerged the overall best at the just concluded 2022, 3 Division Corporals and below competition in Bauchi.

Brig-Gen. Sulaiman Adamu, Chief of Umpire of the competition, announced this at the closing ceremony of the 2022 Corporals and below competition, on Friday, in Bauchi.

He also said 43 Engineers Brigade emerged 2nd, while 3 Divisions came third in the corporal and below competition.

“The competition featured events like combat Marathon, drill, weapon handling which involved stripping and assembly and live firing.

“Other events competed for include: map reading and navigation and obstacle crossing,” Adamu said.

In the same vein, Maj-Gen Ibrahim Ali, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division, commended the participants for their commitment in the competition.

He said that the competition was to also test the skills of soldiers of the rank of corporals and below, on basic skills required to function optimally in the field.

Ali described the competition as an avenue for assessment of strength and weakness with a view to improve in their field of responsibility.

The GOC said that the training would also boost the morale of the troops during operations of any kind in the country.

Ali said that the aim of the competition was in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s (COAS) vision.

“The vision is to have a Nigerian Army that is repositioned to professionally defeat all adversaries in a joint environment.

Also Speaking, Brig-Gen. Joseph Adeyemo, Commandant, 33 Artillery Brigade Bauchi, said the competition was successful with the emerging winners.

He encouraged the participants to utilise what they had learnt from the contest into their operational tasks.

In a remark, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state, represented by Alhaji Ibrahim Kadhim, Secretary to State Government, pledged to continue to support the army as they strive to defend the country.

He said that despite the prevailing security situation, the military and other security agencies were doing their best to ensure peace and stability of the state.

Mohammed commended the Nigerian Army 3 Division for organising the competition that would improve their techniques and physical exercise.
