BAUCHI GOVERNMENT DISTRIBUTES KEKE NAPEP AND COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLES .

-Disbursment of interest free commercial loans at concluding stage.
Bauchi State Government under the leadership of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has flagged off the distribution of 154 commercial Buses and the distribution of the second phase of 655 Keke Napep to beneficiaries in the state.
Governor Bala said the development is to contribute to the improvement of transport system in the state and to give citizens the opportunity to participate in more viable economic activities for self reliance.
He said the idea to initiate and undertake the vital projects was convinced out of his sincere hope, care and concern towards moving the state out of poverty.
“The state governor during the distribution explained that that so far, 1000 unit of the Keke Napep has been given out while the commercial busses will be a continuous process.”
Governor Bala said the 3rd components of disbursing interest free commercial loans to traders and artisans in the state is at concluding stage where money in cash will be released to the leadership of the traders through the Ministry of Cooperatives to arrange, disburse and recover at the appropriate time.
He added, the same Ministry is now recovering what was disbursed by the previous administration for further release to fresh beneficiaries as revolving scheme.
The Governor said with today’s ceremony, streets will be busier with number of Keke Napep and motor parks will be in activities for an improved transport opportunity.
Others who delivered goodwill messages are the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt Honorable Abubakar Y Sulaiman, State Chairman PDP, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam, Commissioner of Cooperatives Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Alhaji Modibbo Ahmed and other stakeholders in the transport sector.
In their thanks giving submissions the Bauchi State Chairman National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW and amalgamated Achaba/Keke Napep Association Alh. Isma’il Abubakar and Bala Dauda express their gratitude to the Governor pledging to made the positive use of the loans in boosting the State economic.
The historical event was attended by the Emirs of Katagum and Misau, Chief Judge and Grand Khadi, Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, Honorable Commissioners among others.
