Bauchi moves to establish Border Communities development agency

Bauchi State government has unveiled plans to establish Border Communities Development Agency.

This was contained in a summary of Wednesday plenary of the state house of assembly made available to newsmen by the spokesperson of the speaker, Comrade Abdul Ahmad Burra.

Burra who said that the plenary was presided over by the deputy speaker of the house, Rt. Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule, explained that a message regarding the establishment of the agency was received from Governor Bala Mohammed of the state.

“The Honourable House received a message from the Executive Governor of Bauchi State His Excellency Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad requesting the Honourable House to consider and pass into law a Bill for a law to establish Bauchi State Border Communities Development Agency 2022”, the summary of the plenary further explained.

Motion to allow the bill undergo first reading was moved by the majority leader of the house, Hon. Tijjani Muhammad Aliyu of Azare Madangala Constituency and was seconded by the Minority Leader Hon. Bakoji Aliyu Bobbo of Chiroma Constituency.

“Upon approval by the Honourable House, the Speaker directed the Deputy Clerk of the House, Lamara Abdu Chinade to carryout the first reading”, the summary of the plenary said.

It said that the Speaker asked members of the assembly to scrutinize the Bill before it is subjected to debate and second reading.

Comrade Burra said in the summary of the plenary that the house thereafter, adjourned to Tuesday 4th October, 2022 as moved and seconded by the Majority Leader and the Minority Leader respectively.
