Bauchi State Government approved the establishment of additional 10 community’s radio stations across the state.

Bauchi State Executive Council has approved the total overhauling of facilities in the AM and FM services of the Bauchi Radio Corporation.

Similarly, the executive council approved the establishment of additional 10 community radio stations across the state.

The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Dayyabu Chiroma announced this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the State Executive Council presided over by Governor Bala Mohammed at the Council Chambers, Government House Bauchi.

Dayyabu Chiroma, said the council approved over 400 million naira for the AM, over 300 million naira for FM while the full digitization of Bauchi Television Authority was allocated with over 733 million naira.

He said the development is part of the commitment of the state government to meet the National Broadcasting Commission NBC’s guidelines for the full digitization of broadcast industries in the country before the end of 2022.

The Commissioner congratulated the management and members of staff of the benefiting stations on the development and urged them to reciprocate the gesture by contributing to the success of the administration.

On her part, the Commissioner for Power, Science and Technology, Maryam Garba Bagel said the council has approved the rehabilitation of inter-town power connection in 37 communities at the cost of 195 million naira through direct labour.

Maryam Garba Bagel said the council also approved the supply of transformers and their accessories for distribution to communities at the sum of 319 million naira to improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries thereby enhancing their economic status.
