As Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-El-Fitr to mark the end of this year’s Ramadan period, Bauchi state Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has commended the citizens for their perseverance and resilience in the face of the current economic hardship.

The Governor who gave the commendation in his Sallah goodwill message on Wednesday, described the economic challenge as a national problem.

Signed by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, the goodwill message said the State Government in collaboration with the Federal Government are taking measures to ameliorate the situation by providing palliative items in form of foodstuffs.

The Governor went further to assure the people of the state that his administration will continue to take necessary measures to bring succor to the good people of the State.

Governor Mohammed appealed to the people of the state to consider the situation as a temporary setback that will be overcome in no distant future.

He expressed praises and gratitude to Allah for seeing the Muslim faithfuls through the holy month of Ramadan during which all Muslim Ummah across the world observed the obligatory fast.

The Governor who also congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr, prayed that the lessons learned during the month of Ramadan would continue to guide their actions and utterances.

He admonished the faithfuls to, while celebrating the Eid-el-Fitir, also use the occasion to reflect on their past activities to see how they have fared spiritually in order to take corrective measures towards improving their relationship with Allah and adherents of other faith.

“We should emulate Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by making sacrifices for the benefit of the less privileged ones in our society”, he said.

Mohammed who called for prayers for peace, unity and prosperity of Bauchi and Nigeria generally, said his government is irrevocably committed to the continued peaceful coexistence among the heterogeneous ethnic and religious groups in the State.

He appealed for the continued understanding, cooperation and support of the citizens towards the realization of the noble objective.

The Governor who urged the citizens to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, love and respect for one another, called for tolerance and accommodation by the various ethnic, religious and political groups in the State.
