Federal University of Health Sciences Azare (FUHSA) to take-off September – Vice Chancellor

Professor Bala M. Audu, the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Health Sciences Azare (FUHSA) has disclosed that the university will take off in September, 2022.
The Vice Chancellor made this known while speaking during the handing and taking over ceremony of the facilities which took place at the College of Administration and Business Studies (CABS) Azare Campus on wednesday.
Professor Audu stated that all preparations are being put in place to ensure that the university takes off and commence academic activities in September, 2022.
“Hopefully, in Sha Allah, we intend to start academic session with four key Programmes by September this year”, he said.
He said some of the courses to start with include, Medicine, Dentistry, Nutrition/ Dietetics and Nursing.
The Vice Chancellor expressed delight that the handing and taking over of the whole facilities between the management of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic and the university was very smooth and peaceful.
He pointed out that the Rector of the Polytechnic and his management team have been very cooperative.
“As you all know, both the university and the Polytechnic are tertiary institutions with focus to train manpower for Nigeria as a whole, so we have a very smooth and mutual understanding on how to hand over and take over the campus in such a way that neither the Polytechnic students nor the incoming students of the university will suffer any setback” he assured.
The Vice Chancellor, thanked Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state for authorizing the university to take over the campus where the state government has invested so much in it.
He also applauded the Governor for facilitating the smooth transition of the state own facilities to the federal institution.
“In fact, we are looking forward to paying a courtesy call and thank you visit to His Excellency in the shortest possible time once he gives us the opportunity to do so”, the Vice Chancellor said
On his part, Dr Adamu Sa’idu, the Rector of the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi, said the management under his leadership has since received directives from the state government to ensure smooth handing over of its Azare campus to the university.
“Since from that moment, we have started putting machineries in place to ensure that we make steady handing over these facilities to the university”, Dr. Adamu said.
“You know, now we have some students on ground since we don’t want a situation that our Programme will be disrupted, that’s why we sat down to marshall out plans on how to hand over the property proper”, the Rector further explained.
“We don’t want a situation that will also stagnate them from carrying out their work too. So, that is why we now agreed that our students will remain there, up to June 2022, which we expect that they will finish their final exams “, the Rector of the Polytechnic said.
