History is made as Professor Sadiya takes over as first female ASCOE Provost Azare

History was made yesterday when Professor Asabe Sadiya Mohammed was inaugurated as the first female provost of the Aminu Saleh college of education Azare, Katagum local government area of Bauchi state.

The inauguration ceremony which saw professor Asabe taking over as provost of the institution took place yesterday at the premises.

The newly appointed Provost of the College, Proffesor Asabe Sadiya Mohammed was appointed recently for the initial period of 4-years by the Bauchi state Governor, Bala Mohammed.

In his address, the Registrar of the College, Alhaji Ali Ahmed Adamu while welcoming all dignitaries, congratulated the outgoing Provost for the successful completion of his tenure.

He applauded his performance,noting that the outgoing provost has recorded significant achievements that has greatly transformed the College to a more better learning environment.

The Registrar therefore, assured the incoming Provost of the College commitment to give her all the necessary support to achieve greater height.

On his part, the former Provost of the College Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed Isyaku expressed appreciation to his management team, academic Board and the entire staff of the College for the unwaivering support which translated to numerous achievements in the college.

He congratulated the incoming Provost and charged her to emulate the good polices of her predecessors as well as the formidable polices of the College.

In her words, the incoming Provost of the College, Professor Asabe Sadiya Mohammed congratulated her predecessor for the successful achievements he made in the College.

While assuring the gathering of her commitment to continue with the good works of the Provost, professor Asabe solicited for the cooperation from the Council, Academic Board, Management and entire of the Staff College to enable her make positive impact during her tenure.

She extended her best wishes to the governing council of the college and to His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State for founding her worthy of the appointment.

In his closing remarks, the Deputy Provost of the College, Mallam Mukhtar Hussani Congratulated the outgoing Provost for his achievements in the areas of Staff Welfare Scheme, Students Internal Scholarship, 24hrs Medical Services, ICT, among others.

He urged the the incoming Provost to ensure that she maintain the tempo to which the College was established.

Also, goodwill messages were delivered by the Vice Chancellor of Bauchi state university Gadau (BASUG), Provost COELEGS Misau, Registrar BASUG, Registrar COELEGS, Professors and Doctors across the Academia that graced the occasion.
