NGO donates school kits, other instructional materials to 150 Bauchi pupils

A Non-governmental organization known as Child Is Gold has donated writing, uniforms, school and parents -teacher Association fees to 150 pupils of Birshi Gandu Primary School in Bauchi suburb.
In its ‘Back to School’ project, the NGO said it provided the items in collaboration with Kairos Initiative, Community Advocate for Rural Development as well as Imigan Hope Empowerment Initiative.
Speaking yesterday, the Executive Director of Chid is Gold Foundation, Mrs Elizabeth George said that the Initiative observed that many of the pupils who have greater ambition were lacking necessary items to learn, hence the intervention.
George said that the assistance was to make sure that the pupils achieved their goals in learning. She explained that writing materials which include; packs of pencils, packs of books, sanders, uniforms and others were donated to the school.
Also, the foundation presented lectures on “the importance of education, care for self, bullying management and peace building”.
One of the teachers, Amina Elijah commended the CIGF and others CSOs for selecting the as one of the benefiting schools.
She commended the government for its intervention while urging for more to better the learning and teaching process.
