Plan ahead 2031 instead of going to supreme court, group counsels Atiku, Obi
Samuel Luka, Bauchi
The Presidential candidates of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and that of the Labour party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi have been advised to plan ahead of the 3031 general elections instead of wasting their time in going to the supreme court to appeal the recent verdict of presidential election petition tribunal (PEPT) which ruled in favor of the All Progressives Congress’s (APC’s) Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Chairman of the Arewa Youths Awareness on Leadership and Election in Bauchi State, Khamis Musa Darazo stated this while speaking to newsmen on Tuesday in Bauchi.
According to him, “it will be better for them to start working for either 2027 or 2031 than challenging President Ahmed Bola Tinubu at the supreme court over his victory”.
Darazo pointed out that Atiku and Obi are not challenging the outcome of tribunal over the victory of President Tinubu but the Nigerian masses who voted for him.
Darazo who described plan by Atiku and Obi to appeal the court judgement at the supreme court as a wrong decision, explained that going to court always is a waste of time, energy, resources which is capable of reducing their popularity in the country.
He opined that the two presidential candidates should have instead of wasting their money in the courts, use it to help the masses particularly in this critical time of hardship.
“I believe that nothing will change if they appeal the Wednesday’s judgement of the Presidential Election Petitions Court at the Supreme Court”, Dazaro added.
The chairman of the group further advised the duo to endure, exercise patience and wait till another time, saying anything that God has destined for them must surely come to pass one day.
He said, for now, it is time for Tinubu to rule the country, as such, Atiku and Obi should allow him to finish his first and the second tenure before making another struggle for power.
“By defeating you at the tribunal, is an indication that the Nigerian masses have actually spoken”, Darazo maintained.
He enjoined Atiku, Obi and their teaming supporters to support and cooperate with the Tinubu’s led federal government in order to reap the much needed democracy dividends.
