Provost Health Sciences college FUHSA, Prof. Gaidam seeks staff’s commitment, punctuality to duty

The Provost, College of Medical Sciences of the federal University of Health Sciences Azare (FUHSA), Prof. Ado Dan Azumi Gaidam has called on the newly appointed non-teaching pioneer staff of the University to ensure total commitment to duty upon assumption of work.

Prof Ado Dan Azumi made the call during an opening ceremony of induction training organized by the university management for the new staff on Tuesday.

While declaring the training open at the institution’s premises, Professor Gaidam said it will go a long way in equipping the participants with the required knowledge to perform their responsibilities effectively.

He pointed out that the management of the University has in its quest to ensure quality service, invited people with verse knowledge as resource persons to come and impart such skills and knowledge on the new Staff of the University for optimal performance.

“I am sure that at the end of the training, they are going to actually benefit a lot and can be able to deliver on their mandates which will help in achieving the mission and vision of the University”, he said.

The Provost who called on the newly appointed non-teaching staff to ensure punctuality to work, urged them to also be dedicated to their responsibilities.

According to him, the knowledge to be acquired from the training will help them deliver on their mandate towards achieving the mission and vision of the University.

Professor Gaidam who harps on team work as a yardstick to any development, urged the new staff to imbibe the spirit of team work for the success of the institution.

“Irrespective of the background you come from, the most important thing is adherence to ethics of the job, that will help work as a team and our diversity will turn to strength and we’ll be able to achieve our mandate”, Professor Gaidam informed the inductees.

On his part, the Consultant for the induction training, Malam Bukar Usman while presenting a paper said that the success of any institution or Organization generally depends largely on such training for its Staff.

Usman who is the immediate past Registrar, federal University Dutse, Jigawa state and the present Registrar of Al-Ansar University Maiduguri said that the new staff need to know what they are expected to do as employees of the University.

“This is a new and young university and people have been employed from different works of life and they have come together, so the best is to at least tell them what university is all about and what are their responsibilities”, he said

While urging the trainees to pay attention to the lined up lessons, the consultant advised them to embrace the habit of team work in order to propel the university to limelight.

In their separate remarks, some of the trainees, Bilyaminu Musa, Fatima Baba Lawan, thanked the management of the University for organizing the training, promising to pay attention to the resource persons.

According to them, the induction training was very important and timely for them as newly appointed staff which they noted will enable them learn a lot at the end of the training session.
