Tafsir: Governor Inuwa Admonishes Youths Against Violence

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has urged youths in the state to shun violence and cultivate the virtue of discipline and self-control in the society.

The Governor spoke during a Tafsir session at Doma Mosque, Jekadafari Gombe.

The Governor said the call became necessary in view of the forthcoming elections in which youths are the main targets of unscrupulous politicians to cause distress and disrupt the peaceful atmosphere. He admonished youths to completely do away with violent tendencies, even as he tasked parents to live up to their responsibility of installing discipline and good values I their wards to that they would grow up to become great leaders and responsible citizens.

He noted that when the children are properly equipped with home values, discipline and guidance, they will grow up to exhibit good characters and build on the legacy of credible leadership they have learnt from home and that the society will be better for it.

The Governor, however assured that his administration will continue to churn out policies and programmes that will address the socio-economic challenges in the State, citing the ongoing construction of the multi billion naira Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, the distribution of 1,000 tricycles to youths as well as many human capital development initiatives, which he said will help in empowering the youths and making them gainfully employed.

He solicited for special prayers, especially in this last 10 days of Ramadan, for Gombe State and the country at large to overcome their challenges.

Earlier, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa who presided over the Tafsir session, commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for always being down to earth and assured him of support and prayers for the success of his administration.
