Yahaya’s appointment as NEDC Executive Director gladdening to us – Gombe people

The Chairman, Gombe State Unity and Development Mandate Forum (GSUDMF), Alhaji Salihu Magaji has noted that the recent appointment of Alhaji Ahmed Abdussalam Yahaya as Executive Director operations of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu came as a gladdening and good news to the people of Gombe state.

Alhaji Salisu Magaji who made this known in a press statement yesterday, explained that as people of Gombe state, they are happy with development and are commending 
President Bola Ahmad Tinubu for appointing Yahaya to serve in that capacity which they believe will deliver to the expectations of the president and the people of the North East.

“We are indeed very happy when we heard about his appointment as Executive Director operations from Gombe State Operation in the board of directors of the North East Development Commission NEDC”, they said.

Alhaji Salihu Magaji described Abdussalam’s appointment as a well-deserved one, adding that Yahaya is a person with the capacity and energy to develop the North-East zone and Nigeria in general.

“This is in recognition of his sterling qualities and wealth of experience as a technocract experienced banker and administrator”, Magaji said

According to him, the appointment of Yahaya has been greeted with excitements and encomiums amongst the elders and youths of the zone.

“We know what he can deliver as Executive Director Operations towards executing viable projects in the region. We consider Abdussalam’s appointment as a messiah to the challenges bedeviling the region”, the group said.

They pointed out that Yahaya’s appointment was due to his hard work, patriotism, and commitment to the improvement of the wellbeing and welfare of the people of the Northeast.

While welcoming Yahaya’s appointment with immense joy, the group expressed optimisms that he will help in bringing creative ideas toward consolidating on the gains so far made by the commission in its efforts at reversing the negative impacts of insurgency in the North-East.

“Abdussalam has distinguished himself in all walks of life; he cares for the poor; he is a motivation to elders, youths and less privileged in the sub-region and a key driver of empowerment of women and youths”, the group noted.

Magaji further said, “the President did well by appointing an experienced man who will always cooperate with the other Board members, relate with all and mobilize youths and elders toward sustaining peaceful coexistence, reconstruction and post Insurgency drive agenda of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The group also commended the Governors of the region for ensuring viable partnership with the commission for the betterment of the lives of the people.

Magaji said the appointment of examplary leaders in the board is a confirmation of President Tinubu’s firm belief to work with experuence people that has capacity to help in the rebuilding process toward a greater Nigeria.

Recalled that last Wednesday, President Tinubu sent the name Abdussalam and 10 others to the Senate for confirmation as members of the governing board of the North East Development Commission In accordance with section 5, sub section b , of the North East Development Commission Establishment act 2017.
