1 year anniversary: Former councillor, Wakili commends Dambam LG chairman over laudable achievements

A stakeholder in Dambam local government area of Bauchi state and a former ward councillor, Honourable Ali Wakili, has applauded the chairman of the LG, Hon Yakubu Garba Tela for recording laudable achievements within one year in office.
Wakili who is also Retired Director Primary Health Center (PHC) Dambam LG made this in an interview with Baushe Times Wednesday.
According to him, the LG chairman who also holds the traditional title of Wakilin Kare-Kare in the Misau emirate council, has performed reasonably in the area of education, health, agriculture, peace building, among other critical sectors of human endeavors.
“Honestly speaking this man has done well, we don’t have much to say than to appreciate him for what he has done so far within just one year in office”, Wakili said.
He recalled that since assumption of office last year as Dambam LG chairman, Hon Tela has moved the local government area forward, especially provision of school infrastructure.
“You know any society without functional education system can not develop. Hon Yakubu Garba Tela has taken the education of our children with all seriousness it deserves. Because of his effort, he was recently honored by students union in Misau”, the stakeholder stated.
He further disclosed that the local government chairman has been sponsoring the education of about 200 children, especially the less privileged children.
“I know that he is sponsoring the education of about 200 children from less privileged homes into different schools, and I am telling you the impact will manifest in the near future, God’s willing”, Wakili pointed out.
While speaking on the effort of the LG chairman in the area of health, Wakili said there is request concerning health that the chairman has ever left unattended to.
“He doesn’t joke with the issue of health, his response has always been prompt and proactive, he is always at the forefront when it comes to immunization and other health related programmes”, he said.
Wakili said Hon Yakubu Garba Tela has been investing in the agricultural sector in order to ensure food security in not only Dambam local government area but Bauchi state and Nigeria as a whole.
In the area of security, Wakili commended the local government chairman for ensuring peaceful coexistence among the residents.
According to him, before now, people don’t sleep with their two eyes closed untill the coming of Hon Yakubu Garba Tela as the LG chairman.
“Before the coming of Hon Yakubu Garba Tela, stealing and housebreaking in Dambam was the order of the day but when he came last year up to now, Allah has used him to address the problem, we now sleep with our two eyes closed, we even leave our doors opened while sleeping”, he said.
He observed that the effort of the local government chairman towards fighting poverty among the youth by empowering them economically has contributed immensely to peace in the society.
He said that the local government chairman has been treating the people of Dambam with care and respect, which has earned him several awards.
He called on the people of Dambam to continue to support and pray for governor Bala Mohammed of the state who he said, created the enabling environment for the LG chairman to serve them better.
