Christian group in ex-speaker Dogara’s constituency under the banner of Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa Christian Support Group For APC, Bauchi state has staged a campaign rally in support for Tinubu/Shettima presidential candidature ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Addressing thousands of supporters at Watal Hotel, the venue of the rally in Tafawa Balewa on Thursday, the Leader of the group, Dr. Godfrey Manasseh, said that the group was formed with the aim of supporting the party’s presidential candidate, Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and any other candidate of the party in Bauchi state.

“We are here today been the 29th of December, 2022 to make our minds very clear and our resolution to the entire Nigerians. We are here with one voice as christians from this constituency to say we have collectively resolved to endorse the great man, the honest man, the man that is full of capacity, the Jagaban of Nigeria”, he said.

“We have gone beyond religion, there are people that are propagating religion, we are not with them and this is our position, they can do that on their own, they have the liberty, but for us, our decision goes beyond religion, we want to see the man who will deliver Nigeria and that man is no any other person than the Jagaban of Nigeria”, Dr. Manasseh further declared.

Dr. Manasseh who spoke on behalf of the group said they have also endorsed the Bauchi state Governorship candidate of the APC, Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar as well as all other contestants vying for various elective positions under the party.

He maintained that as the then governor of Lagos state, senator Tinubu was able to raised men who are Nigerians and as such, the APC Presidential candidate is an institution of its own.

The Leader of the group, who said Tinubu despite being a Muslim, allowed his wife who is a Christian to continue with her faith including his children, said such patriotism is unusual and not easy to take by many Nigerians.

“For us, we have Nigeria in Tinubu which is not quite easy even for a man like me, if I marry a Muslim today I would like her to go to church but for the high sense of patriotism and respect for our religion as christians he has decided to even allow his children to go to church with us”, Dr. Manasseh pointed out.

“We’ve decided to endorse him not only because of his ability to accept us but the work we have seen in his compendium presented to Nigerians”, he said.

He said, “today the record is before you, people have come out en mass, jubilating, you have seen the great rally and we are ready to do more, we need the support of our party so we can go door to door, house to house, person to person for the APC 2023”.

Godfrey Manasseh noted that the APC has given the people of Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa local government areas the opportunity to produce the speaker of the national assembly, adding that under the APC, his people have witnessed large scale development.

The lader of the group listed some of the dividends of democracy brought to his constituency by the APC to include, the establishment of Air force university in Tafawa Balewa, federal road in Dass and the appointment of the immediate past Executive Secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (Tetfund), Professor Elias Sulaiman Bogoro, among others.

“We will support APC so that 2023 APC will do more for us, we wish the party will take note of these at all levels to support us, we have women here, we have youth here, we want to have the opportunity under Jagaban of Nigeria so that the youth will stand on their own”, he said.
