JAC directs 5 Bauchi’s colleges to embark on total strike

The Joint Action Committee of the Academic and Non Academic Staff Union of Colleges, Bauchi state Chapter has directed its members to embark on what it described as total and comprehensive strike to press home their demands.

The directive dated 19th July, 2022 was signed by the Chairman of the committee, Abdulkadir Mohammed.

The notice of the strike was copied to all the staff and students of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, Adamu Tafawa Balewa College of Education, Kangere, A.D Rufa’l College of Education, Legal and General Studies, Misau, Bauchi State College of Agriculture, Bauchi and Aminu Saleh College of Education, Azare.

The notice of strike explained that the the move was aimed at complementing the JAC struggle to regain its member’s entitlements from the Bauchi State government.

“As widely communicated to appropriate stakeholders in the State, the JAC formally
extends this notice to you”, the notice of the strike informed the five Bauchi own colleges.

It further noted that the warning strike begins Tuesday 19th to
Saturday 30 July, 2022.

“Note that all academic and non-academic activities will be shutdown till
further notice”, the JAC said.

According to the notice, activities affected include, primary and secondary assignments such as the consultancy services, staff schools, undergraduate
programmes, administrative activities among others.

“We urge you to maximally comply to this struggle until our demands are
made insha Allah. May Allah (SWT) come to our aid”, the JAC said.

While thanking the members for the anticipated cooperation, the JAC appealed to them for continuous prayers to enable them succeed in their struggle.
