Bandits/Kidnap kingpin, 12 others killed by police in Bauchi

No fewer than 12 suspected Bandits/kidnappers, including their kingpin, Madaki Mansur have been killed in a joint operation led by the operatives of the Nigerian police in Alkaleri local government area of Bauchi state.

The Bauchi state Commissioner of Police, Alhassan Aminu stated this in a crime bulletin made available to newsmen by the Command’s Public Relations Officer SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil on Monday.

The Crime bulletin further explained that the incident occurred today, Monday 19th December, 2022.

“On the 19th December 2022 at about 0230hrs, a Joint Operation of security operatives engaged suspected bandits/kidnappers in four different hideouts; Mansur, Digare, Gwana and Dajin Madam in Alkaleri forest”, SP Wakil said.

The PPRO noted that the successes recorded followed a hot exchange of superior fire-power by the operatives which left twelve (12) of the bandits/kidnappers dead.

According to him, “others were subdued, dislodged and scampered in disarray into the nearby bushes with possible gunshot wounds and abandoned their Camp”.

“In our combined efforts to stem the menace of banditry in Bauchi State, especially in Alkaleri L.G.A., the command was at its best recently”, the crime bulletin further said.

SP Wakil who disclosed that, as a result, weapons and operational motorcycles were recovered during the operation, added that the Command is intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing members of the syndicate.
