Bauchi Governor Appoints Faggo as Special Adviser, Political Affairs

Bala Mohammed, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, has appointed the Rt. Honourable Abubakar Ahmed Faggo as his Special Adviser on Political Affairs.
The appointment of Faggo was contained in a press release signed by the Director of Press Affairs of the Government House, Suleiman Alhassan Dambam.
Dated July 19, 2023, the Press release also informed that the Governor approved the appointment of Alhaji Mukhtar Gidado as his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity as well as Alhaji Umar Hassan as State Chief of Protocol (SCOP).
“The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Sen. Bala AbdulkadirMohammed, CON Fnipr (Kauran Bauchi), has approved the appointment of twoSpecial advisers and the State Chief of Protocol”, the press release said.
It explained that “the appointees are:
- Rt. Hon. Abubakar Ahmed Faggo (Special Adviser, Political Affairs)
- Comrade Mukhtar M. Gidado (Special Adviser, Media & Publicity)
- Alh. Umar Hassan (State Chief of Protocol, SCOP)
According to the press release, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Faggo was the former Speaker of the Bauchi State House ofAssembly and the immediate past Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Executive Governor.
It further said, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado is the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, who was exempted from the executive order dissolving political office holders on May 25, 2023.
The press release noted that Mukhtar Gidado is to serve in the same capacity.
It added that the appointed SA media and Publicity officer was amember of the media and publicity department of the governor’s campaign organisation and the immediate past Deputy National President of the Nigerian Unionof Journalists (NUJ).
The press release explained that Umar Hassan is returning to the Government House, having served in the same capacity before moving to Katagum Local Government as Caretaker Chairman.
“The Executive Governor describes the appointment as recognition of their track records of hard work, trustworthiness, dedication, commitment, and wealth of experience”, the release pointed out.
“They are therefore expected to continue to bring these qualities to bear in the discharge of their responsibilities”, the press release anticipated.
It was noted that the appointment of new government officials takes immediate effect.
