Bauchi’s compliance to routine immunization excites Henshaw, commends UNICEF

Compliance to routine immunization in Bauchi state has been commended by Kate Henshaw, United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) Ambassador.

Henshaw who was addressing journalists during a press conference at the UNICEF office in Bauchi on Tuesday, said information gathered from stakeholders in the state, indicated that a lot has been done in the area of immunization of children across the state.

The UNICEF Ambassador who commended the Bauchi state government and traditional leaders in the state for working to ensure that no child is left unimmunized, encouraged parents not to relent in always making their children available for the very important exercise.

Henshaw who spoke on nutrition, maintained that it is very important to the health of the children, hence parents should strive to make it available for their wards.

She urged women to always take good care of their children by ensuring that they are fully immunized, adding that health personnel in Bauchi deserve commendation for going round the state to make sure that children are not left out in terms of immunization.

Earlier speaking, the Chief of Field Office, UNICEF Bauchi Field Office, Dr. Tushar Rane thanked Kate Henshaw for coming to Bauchi State at the time the routine immunization is taking place across the state.

Dr. Rane who appreciated the contribution of Journalists in amplifying UNICEF’s initiatives towards improving the living condition of children, said without the press they cannot do it alone.

“We thank Kate Henshaw who travelled all away from Lagos to Bauchi, we had a meeting with His Excellency, the Governor of Bauchi state, Emir of Dass and some caregivers”, he said.
