Former Speaker Dogara is tested and trusted, appoint him as minister – APC concerned forum urges Tinubu

A socio-political group known as Bauchi All Progressives Congress (APC) Concerned Forum has appealed to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint the former speaker, Nigerian House of Representatives, Rt. Honorable Yakubu Dogara as minister for the progress and development of not only Bauchi state but Nigeria as a whole.
Addressing journalists in a press conference in Bauchi Saturday, the Chairman of the Forum, Alhaji Musa Kawule Yawule and his Secretary Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim said the former speaker is competent to be appointed as minister due to his tract records of delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa federal constituency where he represented for good 16 years.
Alhaji Yawule maintained that the commitment, zeal and political will of Dogara is what the country needs to achieve massive sustainable infrastructural development in the country.
“Appointing him as minister in your government will make him stand in a vintage position to replicate what he did when he was cheering the affairs of the three hundred and sixty (360) honorable members of the House of Representatives as speaker”, the Forum observed.
The officials of the APC Concerned Forum recalled that during the 2023 presidential primaries, Dogara played vital role by touring all the 36 states with President Tinubu to woo delegates to his favor which made him emerged the flag bearer of the APC for the 2023 Presidential election.
The Forum further recalled that the former speaker was the one who signed the party’s presidential form and summited on behalf of the president.
“It will serve the people of Bauchi state well if the former speaker is appointed by His Excellency, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaban while forming his cabinet “, the Forum said.
While commending Yakubu Dogara for working tirelessly to ensure the success of the APC Governorship candidate in Bauchi state, Ambassador Sadique Baba Abubakar in the last general elections, the Forum maintained that the effort also made the party to win many legislative seats in the state.
According to them, it was high time for the president to consider the contributions of Dogara to his emergence as APC Presidential candidate and what he has done for the progress of the party in the past and reward him with ministerial position.
“Everything possible was done by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to defeat the APC candidate for Dass, Bogoro and Tafawa Balewa federal constituency but due to Dogara’s grassroot politicking, the position was won by the APC”, the Forum explained.
“Dogara alone backed the APC candidate Jafaru Gambo Leko and he won the election and is now in the green chamber as his successor”, they said.
The group reiterated that the President should consider appointing the former speaker to enable him consolidate on achievements he recorded while serving in the National assembly.
While describing President Tinubu as a seasoned Politician, the group expressed optimisms that he will see the potentials in the former speaker whom he knew very well for attracting infrastructural development, to his constituency, been a corrupt free Politician and give him the opportunity to work for National interest.
Alhaji Yawule who noted that the Forum comprises of professionals,
technocrats, vibrant youths and
experienced industrial players, said they have identified Dogara as someone who will contribute meaningfully
to government and the country’s
development.
While congratulating President Tinubu for starting on a good footing, the Forum described the President’s victory at the 2023 polls and his swearing-in as the beginning of a new era for Nigeria.
“Your journey to the Presidency has
been nothing short of remarkable and
your tireless efforts, dedication and
vision have been accepted by all Nigerians. Your commitment and decision within these past four weeks in
office have improved the fortune of our nation because they are critical to National development”, the Forum said.
They further informed the President that Dogara is a politician who across ethnic and religious groups which he proved by is loved by all religion and tribes, this has been proven by assisting all regardless of social, ethnic or religious consideration.
