Ibrahim Shira, Zainab Bauchi Emerged Winners 2023 Qur’anic Competition In Bauchi

Ibrahim Muhammad Nasiru from Shira local government area has emerged overall winner in sixty hizf with Tafsir and Qira’at in male category in the just concluded 38th edition of the Bauchi State Qur’anic Recitation Competition held at Kafin Madaki, Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.

While Zainab Muhammad Abdulllahi from Bauchi local government Area came first in the female category in sixty hizf with Tafsir and Qira’at in the competition.

The overall winners at the end of the competition were rewarded each with a brand new car while second category winners also received cars, the third winners each received Tricycles machines keke-napep, motorcycles, fourth winners motorcycles and among others. 

Declaring the competition closed and presenting the prices to the winners, the state governor Bala Muhammad, pledged the state government readiness to continue to support such competition and other Islamic activities.

Represented by the Secretary to the state government Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, the government said the competition was aimed at instilling reading and memorizing the glorious Qur’an perfectly, saying in previous competitions Bauchi State emerged victorious at National level and urged the contingents to maintain the tempo.

The Governor reaffirmed the determination of his administration to strengthen the capacity of the State Qur’anic Recitation Competition to assist the participants to actualize their intellectual potentials.

Earlier, the caretaker committee Chairman Ganjuwa Local Government Council Alhaji Muhammad Idris who was represented by his deputy Ibrahim Baba  thanked Governor Bala Muhammad for giving the local government the hosting right saying that it is a remarkable achievement to the local government and state at large and thanked Allah for successful conduct of the competition.

Alhaji Idris called on the contingents to put into practice what they have learnt before, during and after the competition.

In his remarks, the Chairman Bauchi Qur’anic Recitation Competition committee Imam Hassan Usman Zango who expressed delight for the successful completion of the competition appealed to Governor Bala Muhammad to redeem the promise made to provide a motorcycle to Arabic visiting Teachers of the 20 LGA’S.

Also speaking, the state Commissioner ministry of affairs and social religious reorientation, Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza, assured that the State government will sponsor 1st and 2nd positions to represent the State at the National level.

Jama’are local government area of the state is to host the 39th edition of the competition next year.

Our reporter reports that two hundred and forty contingents participated in the competition and over 20 were selected to represent the state at National level scheduled to hold in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
