Bauchi state Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to develop an effective monitoring and evaluation mechanism to check the disbursement of funds of the social investment programe in Bauchi.
The governor made the call at the ongoing Kaura Economic empowerment program in Dambam and Misau Local government areas.
The governor accused the stake holders handling the social intervention program of hijacking the process and politicizing it.
According to him, though the program is a good initiative of the Federal Government aimed at reducing poverty, yet the program in Bauchi is selective and is not reaching the targeted beneficiaries.
Governor Bala Mohammed called on the president to deploy monitoring and evaluation mechanism to ensure equal distribution of the funds in the state.
Speaking on the Kaura Economic empowerment program, the governor said the scheme is to develop and strengthen microfinance institutions,.
He added that it will enhance access to financial services so as to boost the productivity of micro and small scale enterprises.
According to him, over 1000 beneficiaries in the two local government will benefit from the program worth over one hundred and fifty million naira.
