Misau/Dambam Representative member moves motion for construction of Dambam bye-pass

The member representing Misau and Dambam local government areas of Bauchi state in the House of Representatives, Honourable Bappah Aliyu Misau has moved a motion for the construction of a Bypass in Dambam along Kano-Maiduguri road.

This was contained in a motion document personally signed and made available to newsmen in Bauchi on Thursday.

Titled: ‘Need for the Construction of Bye-pass in Dambam along Kano-Maiduguri road’, the Lawmaker drew the attention of the house to noted that Dambam is the Headquarters of Dambam Local
Government Area in Bauchi State. It is located on Kano-Maiduguri Road.

Hon Misau who is also the Deputy Chairman House Committee on TETFUND and other Services, said Dambam is the only major town without bye-pass on that highway.

He said, “the
construction of this bye-pass is crucial for the development and progress of
the Area”.

Hon Bappah further explained that the advantages of constructing the bye-pass in Dambam are numerous and far reaching.

“Firstly the bye-pass will help alleviate traffic
congestion in the town, thereby reducing travel time, enhance road safety by diverting heavy traffic away from the town center, reducing the risk of
accidents and improving over well-being of residents”, the Lawmaker added.

According to him, the bye-pass, when constructed will contribute to safer and more secured environment for all members of the community,
including pedestrians, cyclist and motorist.

Hon. Bappah who urged the house to mandate the Federal Ministry of Works to construct the bye-pass in
Dambam, said the Committee on Appropriation should be also be mandated to include the
construction of the bye-pass in the budget either supplementary
budget in 2024 or Appropriation of 2025.

He further called on the house of representatives to mandate Committee on Legislative Compliance to ensure
compliance.
