Plans to upgrade FMC Azare to Teaching Hospital unveiled

Indicators are visible for the upgrade of Federal Medical Center (FMC) Azare, Katagum local government area of Bauchi to the status of Teaching Hospital.

A press release made available to Journalists by Abdu Mohammed,
Head of Information and Prototol Unit of the Center noted that his principal, the Medical Director, Dr Dauda Abubakar Katagum has expressed optimism over the imminent upgrade of the center into the status of a Teaching Hospital.

According to the Head of Information and Prototol Unit, the MD spoke in an event of his one year anniversary.

He said that, Dr Katagum pointed out that with its current status as a tertiary health institution that is close to the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, FUHSA, Fmc, Azare is well positioned to naturally evolve into a Teaching Hospital.

He asserted that given its robust facilities and skilled manpower, FMC Azare is the ideal choice to serve as Teaching Hospital to the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare for professional training needs.

Discussing on the challenges of the official responsibilities of his office, the MD attributed the gradual success being put in place to divine grace and his past experience in sister institutions.

The Medical Director emphasized the significance of respecting professional ethics in discharging medical responsibilities, an area he specifically focus on to improve patient care.
