Talban Katagum distributes 50 by 50 plots of land to 25 households demolished in Bauchi Community

A philanthropist, Dr. Musa Babayo (Talban Katagum) has distributed 50 by 50 plots of land to 25 households hose houses were demolished at old Airport Azare, Katagum local government area of Bauchi state following a court verdict.

Speaking during the distribution ceremony and handing over of the land papers to the beneficiaries on Monday, the admin officer of Talba Foundation, Malam Bakari Uba said that the gesture was meant to cushion the sufferings of the beneficiaries following the sad incident that befall them.

He said majority of the people affected by the eviction order were poor people, explaining that about 25 of them lost their houses on grounds that the land were given to them without following due process.

Malam Ayuba who described the situation as disastrous to the victims, added that most of the households affected were those of the poor.

“It is for that reason that one of the philanthropists in our land, that’s Talban Katagum decided to buy a large parcel of land and distributed it to the affected persons equal to what was seized from them, some even got more than what they were having before”, he added.

The admin officer of the Talba Foundation said many well-wishers that witnessed the distribution ceremony were impressed and prayers were offered for Allah to continue to bless Dr. Talba with every goodies of life, both on earth and hereafter, adding that Dr. Talba is a man who possesses generous heart.

Earlier in his welcome address, Malam Ishiyaka Gabi said that the purpose of the gathering was to distribute the plots of land to the beneficiaries as part of Dr. Talba’s effort to help the victims, praying for the success of the program.

Also speaking, Alhaji Balan Gali expressed grief over what happened to the displaced persons who were sacked from their houses.

“I want to commend the man, Dr. Babayo, the man with a large heart and a generous giver for purchasing a large parcel of land and at the same time donating the plots of land to the beneficiaries.

On his part, the Committee chairman of the affected persons, Ali Gambo described the day as the most happiest one for them, which can never be forgotten.

“The incident occurred on 7th and 8th June, 2022. When we were sacked from our houses, no body from the entire Katagum came to commiserate with us or render some assistance except Dr. Talba, and we will never forget to keep on praying so that God will bless him abundantly”, he said

While expressing gratitude for the gesture, Gambo who spoke on behalf of other beneficiaries, said Dr. Talba has left an indelible mark in their lives, describing him as one of the few philanthropists that Nigeria has been blessed with.

During the distribution exercise, prayers and goodwill messages were offered for Allah’s blessings upon the life of Dr. Talba and the beneficiaries for them to rebuild their houses by Imam Malam Habu , Malam Abubakar Tinno, chief Imam of Azare Jumma’at mosque Sheikh Malam Ayuba as well as the District head of Azare, Abdulkadir Karofin Katagum.

The district head who recalled that the eviction order and the subsequent demolition of houses of the victims was worrisome, commended Dr. Talba for coming to their aid.

He prayed that Allah will reward him abundantly and grant the beneficiaries the financial capacity to rebuild their houses.
