NDE begins registration of unemployed youth in Bauchi

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has announced the commencement of registration of unemployed youth in the country.

Our Corresspondent reports that, at the commencement of the exercise in Bauchi state on Monday, Thousands of unemployed people were gathered to be registered in the ongoing Nationwide exercise.

The unemployed youth were seen in their large numbers trooping into the Directorate’s Bauchi office in the early hours of Monday to register their names from within and outside the State. 

Speaking at the commencement of the exercise, the NDE State Coordinator, Lawal Ali Yaya said the objective of the registration exercise was to gather the much-needed data of unemployed youth in the State for onward presentation to the national headquarters as was directed by the Director General, Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo. 

According to him, the unemployed Nigerians targeted for the exercise cut across all carders, ranging from primary and secondary schools to tertiary education graduate students.

He added that the Directorate has also made adequate arrangements for special people with disability by allocating 5 per cent to them.

The Coordinator further explained that the exercise will run for three weeks to enable the teaming unemployed youth register in the State.

Some of the unemployed youth interviewed during the exercise expressed delight over the move and prayed that the incoming government will fulfil its Campaign promises.
